A Prophetic Start to 2011

Today is the official end of the holiday season at the DeJarnett house.  Vacation is over (we had a great trip down to Palm Springs to visit family) and school is now back in session.  The holiday decorations will be boxed up this week and sent back into their dark corner in the attic.  The parties are over (except for one 🙂 – be sure and check out the Events tab above) and I’m ready to get back into a routine again.

We ended our time off last night with a round of take-out Chinese food from our favorite restaurant. Now, I don’t know about you, but I always get the fortune cookie that has a droll, generic fortune like “happiness comes to the quiet heart” or “fortune smiles on those with vision.” I never get the “you’ll be rich and famous” fortunes…my husband gets those.  At least until last night.

Imagine my surprise when I cracked open my little cookie and read this:

A romantic mystery will soon add interest to your life.

I know, it could mean anything, and I’m not really superstitious, but as I tackle the next installment of Melissa’s Whirlwind affair with Jason, I couldn’t help but laugh.  I hope that any “romantic mystery” I encounter will be on the screen of my computer, and will be on its way to your bookshelf this year!

I think we might have Chinese again tonight.  Maybe I’ll get some plot advice in my next cookie!

Don’t forget…

@Jennifer Yes, my life’s pretty interesting all right! I’m keeping that fortune taped to my keyboard from now on.

Oh, yes, our favorite adder to fortunes is “between the sheets” 😎 That makes almost any fortune interesting!

  3. That is NO coincidence! But maybe it’s talking about Whirlwind itself—you’re surely in for an interesting 2011 because of it. And…have you ever tried adding the words “in bed” to the end of your fortune? Works like a charm every time to make the fortune even MORE interesting—even the boring ones. 😉

  4. What a great fortune cookie! It sounds like a romantic mystery has ALREADY added a lot of interest to your life. 🙂
