Happy Holidays! 2010 has been a busy year for me as a wife, mom, and writer. With a teenager with eyes on driving and a middle-schooler toting around a baritone saxophone the size of a coffin, our year has been…interesting…and very full. Mark your calendars now! On January 27, 2011, I’ll be hosting a Release Party and Book Signing with my friend and fellow author, Killian McRae at Sonoma Chicken Coop in Campbell, CA (200 E. Quick Tip: Emergency Christmas Cookies
Finally, how about a quick way to dress up chocolate chip cookies for the holidays? I was recently invited to a cookie exchange, and found myself with only about an hour to whip up some cookies. My plan was to make chocolate chip but with red and green M&M’s – only to find my market was sold out of the candies! With the clock ticking, I picked up some candy cane Hershey’s kisses instead. Using a chef’s knife, I chopped up the kisses, leaving the chunks fairly large, and tossed them into the classic Toll House recipe. Voila! Homemade Christmas cookies in minutes.
