Winter 2010

Happy Holidays! 2010 has been a busy year for me as a wife, mom, and writer. With a teenager with eyes on driving and a middle-schooler toting around a baritone saxophone the size of a coffin, our year has been…interesting…and very full. I hope this time of celebration finds you and yours safe and happy!

Whirlwind Available This Tuesday!

Love at first sight is a myth to aspiring journalist Melissa Williams, but when she meets Jason McAlister at a friend’s wedding, a Cinderella-like fantasy turns her no-nonsense world upside down. She sees in his penetrating blue eyes not just an evening, but a lifetime together that includes much more than a glass slipper and a kiss.

Realizing she shared a few salacious emails with Jason months ago, a humiliated Melissa loses herself in the crowd, thankful he doesn’t know who she is. But he does know—and with a gentle touch and a steamy kiss, he soon picks up their flirtation right where it left off.

As midnight strikes, Melissa succumbs to Jason’s sexy pull, unaware that a woman’s body has been discovered in the wake of the party. When evidence points to Melissa as the killer’s next target, the lines between fantasy and reality blur. She goes into hiding, charmed by one mysterious man and hunted by another.

Cinderella lost a shoe—Melissa could lose both her handsome prince and
her life.

Thanks to a lot of hard work on the part of my publisher, Omnific Publishing, the release date for my first novel, Whirlwind, has been moved up to December 21st! Check out their website, or mine,, on Tuesday to order your copy (and check out the video trailer for the book). Use the coupon code HOLIDAYEBOOK to receive a free ebook with your purchase of a paperback.

Whirlwind will be sold in both paperback and ebook formats, and will be available on and as well. If you have any questions about which format works with your ereader, phone, or laptop, please email me. I’d be happy to help.

Upcoming Events: Party and Book Signing

Mark your calendars now! On January 27, 2011, I’ll be hosting a Release Party and Book Signing with my friend and fellow author, Killian McRae at Sonoma Chicken Coop in Campbell, CA (200 E. Campbell Avenue). Stop by at 7:00pm for a snack and some chocolate fondue. Bring your book or your ereader and receive autographs and bling! We’ll also have a few copies for sale on site.

If you like romantic suspense with more of a Dan Brown-Da Vinci Code feel, be sure and check out Killian’s book, 12.21.12, at her website,

I’ll also be speaking in February at the Daughters of the American Revolution District VI meeting and at my local Presbyterian Women’s group. Check my website for more details.

Quick Tip: Emergency Christmas Cookies

Finally, how about a quick way to dress up chocolate chip cookies for the holidays? I was recently invited to a cookie exchange, and found myself with only about an hour to whip up some cookies. My plan was to make chocolate chip but with red and green M&M’s – only to find my market was sold out of the candies! With the clock ticking, I picked up some candy cane Hershey’s kisses instead. Using a chef’s knife, I chopped up the kisses, leaving the chunks fairly large, and tossed them into the classic Toll House recipe. Voila! Homemade Christmas cookies in minutes.

Wishing you a bright and beautiful 2011,
