My favourite fairy tale has always been Beauty and the Beast, mainly because I really love the idea that—unlike what we’re told in other fairy tales—beauty does not equal good and ugly does not mean evil. It’s a complexity which is true to life. Similarly I LOVE the idea of a handsome villain. I think it also gives the author a lot of potential to add depth to the character and layering to his personality and backstory. Plus, in this case, Rik Young is soo not-hard-on-the-eyes. Robin, you need to write a book in which Rik Young could play the part of the villain in the movie. Just saying.

That is a very good question! I feel that a sexy villain IS creepier because you are attracted to them but you don’t want to be but you can’t help it so it makes you feel icky on the inside.

I think it all depends on the actor’s skill. Doesn’t matter what he looks like if he make us believe he’s evil.

Excellent question. I think a handsome villain is even creepier, especially if he has ice-blue eyes. *shivers*
